GameZone goes one-on-one with Shaba's Chris Scholtz
Studio head talks about the challenges of Spider-Man: Web of Shadows
When it comes to Spider-Man and creating a game based on the beloved Marvel character, there are risks - certainly - but also the reward that comes with associating with the pop culture icon.
Having had a long-time fan relationship with the Web-slinger provided Shaba the impetus to meld its tenure as a developer of dazzling action games into a form that might seem a bit different on the outside, with a lot of challenges, but has an underlying base that is familiar to what it has done in the past. After all, what is a video game about Spidey other than one that is rife with acrobatic and intense action.
Back in September, Activision, in conjunction with Shaba and Treyarch, hosted an event in Santa Monica for a trio of titles, among them Spider-Man. GameZone was on hand and had a chance to sit down with Chris Scholz (Shaba studio head) to talk about developing a game for the Wall-crawler.
