Backyard Wrestling: Don’t Try This At Home For The Xbox® Video Game System Begins To Arrive In Major Retail Outlets Monday, October 13th

San Francisco, CA  (October 9, 2003)– Eidos Inc. (NASDAQ: EIDSY), one of the world's leading publishers and developers of entertainment software, has shipped to stores the highly-anticipated PlayStation®2 version of Backyard Wrestling: Don’t Try This at Home across North America. Backyard Wrestling: Don’t Try This at Home for the Xbox® video game system from Microsoft will begin to arrive in major retail outlets across the US on Monday, October 13th.

"Backyard Wrestling's gameplay is only limited by the gamer' imagination. There are no rules and no rings keeping players confined," said Kevin Gill, Senior Product Manager at Eidos Interactive. “With a legion of hardcore fans, and an unprecedented mainstream appeal, we are looking forward to a solid launch and further establishment of a ground breaking new brand.”

Backyard Wrestling: Don’t Try This at Home places gamers in the role of an up-and-coming backyard wrestler. Backyard Wrestling takes the staleness of the wrestling genre head on, and introduces a groundbreaking new world of open-ended gameplay. Gamers will be able to punish opponents in highly interactive sprawling environments, implementing instruments of pain like thumbtacks, barbed wire, light bulbs, stop signs, baseball bats, tables, fire… as well as the environment itself. Each player’s success is based on his ability to use and abuse the environment as well as his opponent. With each win, wrestlers move one step closer to the ultimate goal, being crowned "The King of Hardcore.”
