Silly Celebrity Grand Prix Inaugurates New Kart Racing Feature In Disney’s Toontown Online.

Tinseltown joined Toontown this weekend as Disney’s Toontown Online, the first massively multiplayer online game for kids and families, celebrated its new Goofy Speedway "kart" racing game play area with a Grand Prix celebrity racing event on September 24, 2005, at the Disney Studios Lot in Burbank, Calif.

Celebrities, including Jeremy Suarez from "The Bernie Mac Show," Brenda Song and Ashley Tisdale from "The Suite Life of Zack & Cody," and Kyle Massey from "That’s So Raven" (above), put the pedal to the metal for some friendly competition on the speedway using karts they customized. A few hundred lucky players also had the chance to celebrate the game expansion with their favorite celebrities, who logged onto Toontown’s virtual raceway to take on some veteran Toons and learn some tricks from the developers themselves.

Suarez, whose Toontown character was Mister Mac Megagrooven, was crowned winner of the Grand Prix!

"One benefit of massively multiplayer online communities like Toontown is that we can add new game features regularly and we believe Kart racing will be a particularly exciting addition to the Tooniverse. Racing games are extremely popular and now Toontown players can race against their friends and customize their Karts, adding a whole new level of interactivity and personalization to the game," said Steve Parkis, vice president of Premium Products, Disney Online.

Consumers can log onto www.Toontown.com  for a free trial of the game.
