Ubi Soft Releases XIII Multiplayer Demo Worldwide
XIII Multiplayer Demo Lets Players Go Head-to-Head in Deathmatch Action
SAN FRANCISCO, CA - October 3, 2003 - Ubi Soft® Entertainment, one of the world's top game publishers, has released the PC multiplayer demo for its highly-anticipated shooter, XIII. Players battle in Deathmatch or Team Deathmatch action in two exciting maps from the game. XIII also features online multiplayer action for the PlayStation®2 computer entertainment system and the Xbox(tm) video game system, and features four-way split-screen multiplayer on the Nintendo GameCube(tm). XIII is expected to ship in Fall 2003.
The demo gives players a taste of XIII's adrenaline-pumping multiplayer action directly from the game. Players can choose between two action-packed 6-player maps for either Deathmatch or Team Deathmatch action. XIII's 15 deadly weapons are featured in the demo along with a few surprise armaments, allowing players to discover their favorite weapons before the game ships in October. In true XIII style, players will experience a unique graphic novel world as they compete against bots or other players over LAN and the Internet with Ubi Soft's Game Service. The demo can be downloaded now from XIII's website: www.whoisXIII.com/community.

XIII features several innovative multiplayer modes in addition to classic Deathmatch, Team Deathmatch and Capture the Flag modes for the PC version. The "Power Up" mode is a custom Deathmatch multiplayer mode, which includes unique pick-ups, including "invincibility" and "invisibility." In the "Hunt" mode, players chase a running target throughout the map, gaining points by hitting the target. "Sabotage" is a team multiplayer mode, where two teams compete to take control of different strategic points in the map. Players are able to compete against up to 16 players over LAN and eight players via the Internet. In addition to featuring these innovative multiplayer modes, the PC version also includes an exclusive map editor.
