WARRIOR KINGS' RELEASE DELAYED TO
Q1 2002
Microids and Black Cactus reaffirm commitment to quality
(Montréal, Canada - October 3rd, 2001) Microids, an international interactive game developer, publisher and distributor, and Black Cactus, a UK-based developer, announced today that the release date of their upcoming RTS game, Warrior Kings(tm), has been delayed to February 8, 2002.
"This delay demonstrates Microids and Black Cactus commitment toward releasing a high-quality game respectful of the majority of the initially planned features," explained Marc Robert, General Manager of Microids Distribution inc. "Warrior Kings is a much-anticipated RTS title among gamers. We owe them a very strong game and this is what we will deliver on February 8, 2002."
Warrior Kings(tm) is set to establish the ultimate standard in the evolution of real time strategy games. In a fantastic medieval universe, the player's quest is to restore the former glory of a once-great realm. They must forge order out of chaos by uniting fragmented kingdoms into a single, mighty empire under the rule of one warrior king.
The game will offer two multiplayer modes allowing gamers to interact either via a LAN connection or over the Internet.
The game will boast:
· A true 3D game environment
· Terrain features that matter (actual strategic advantage on hillsides,
etc)
· Totally 3D objects (buildings, characters, weapons)
· Stunning animations
· A highly intuitive interface
· Complexity that increases with experience
· Evolving game paths: All players start on an equal footing, but they
may evolve development to either celestial, pagan or technological results -
each path providing a minimum of 35 hours of play through 94 different units.
"In our mind, there is no doubt that Warrior Kings(tm) will revolutionize the anticipations of RTS gamers," said Jamie Thomson, Chairman and Creative Director of Black Cactus. "We paid attention to every unimaginable detail and this dedication to excellence is why we will delay the launch of the game."
