The twelve D&D games that followed would come to be known as "the gold box series" and would dominate the role-playing category for the eight years that followed. Stormfront Studios, a developer with a close association to SSI's original role-playing series (Curse of the Azure Bonds(tm)), was chosen to develop this new edition of Pool of Radiance.
