THQ SHIPS ROCKET POWER BEACH BANDITS FOR PLAYSTATION®2 AND GAMECUBE™
CALABASAS HILLS, Calif., September 24, 2002 - THQ Inc. (NASDAQ NMS: THQI) and Nickelodeon today announced the release of Rocket Powerä Beach Bandits for PlayStation®2 and GameCube™. Rocket Power Beach Bandits features team Rocket Power as they skateboard, surf, and in-line skate their way through an action-packed platform adventure. “Rocket Power,” the number five rated show among kids 2-11, is produced by Klasky Csupo, creators of Nickelodeon’s long-running successful show, “Rugrats.” Rocket Power Beach Bandits is now available for both PlayStation 2 and GameCube at major retail outlets nationwide.
“Rocket Power has been a proven brand at retail including the videogame category, and we’re excited to bring the brand to GameCube and PlayStation 2 this holiday,” said Peter Dillle, Vice President, Marketing, THQ. “We’re also pleased to be able to deliver two full Rocket Power episodes on the PlayStation 2 version, providing even greater value to Rocket Power fans.”

In Rocket Power Beach Bandits for PlayStation 2 and GameCube, the team is looking forward to the best summer yet—especially the Ocean Shores Surf Classic. Playing as Otto, Reggie, Twister or Sam, gamers must use their extreme sports skills to battle robot minions throughout the areas of Ocean Shores, The Lakes, The Robot Factory and Mondo Mountain in this 3D platform/adventure. The game features more than 50 challenging levels, extreme action gameplay styles with the introduction of the dirt rider and the zip-line glide, plus two unlockable multi-player games within four mini-games. Popular characters from the TV show, Eddie: Prince of the Netherworld and Mackenzie, make their Rocket Power videogame debut and meet up with other characters including Lars, Tito, Ray and Officer Shirley. The PlayStation 2 version also features two full-length Rocket Power television episodes.
A Game Boy® Advance version of Rocket Power: Beach Bandits is scheduled to ship in late October.
