New Mission Pack Carries on the Tradition of Game of the Year Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon(TM)
SAN FRANCISCO, CA., September 25, 2002 - The Ghosts are back and ready to storm the island of Cuba! Ubi Soft Entertainment announced today that Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon(TM): Island Thunder(TM) ships today for the PC within the United States.
Taking the next step in battlefield realism, Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon: Island Thunder is the latest expansion pack of Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon, winner of PC Gamer's and IGN.com's PC Game of the Year in 2001. The game was developed at Ubi Soft's Red Storm Entertainment's development office, the studio behind the multi-award winning Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six(TM) and Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon(TM) series.
Storyline:
The year is 2009. Set in an all-new campaign across the island of Cuba, Castro
is dead, and the first free Cuban elections in decades are thrown into turmoil
by a drug-funded warlord. The Ghosts, an elite team of U.S. Army Green Berets,
must destroy the rebel forces and their mercenary leaders, securing the
elections for a free Cuba.
Details:
Ghost Recon: Island Thunder features eight new single-player missions, five new
dedicated multiplayer maps, twelve new multiplayer weapons-including the FN
M240G and the MM-1 automatic grenade launcher-and two new multiplayer game
types. There are also new Cuban enemy vehicles, new allied vehicles and
amazingly realistic insertions by helicopter. Ghost Recon takes battlefield
realism to the limit with Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon: Island Thunder.
Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon: Island Thunder carries a "M"(Mature) rating from the ESRB and will be priced at $19.99. Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon: Island Thunder was developed by Red Storm Entertainment.
