Video Game Sheds New Light On John Kerry’s Medal Winning Mission
Controversial Event Re-Created For First Time Using Interactive Technology
New York (Sept. 20, 2004) – Kuma Reality Games announces the first-ever
realistic re-enactment of the controversial events surrounding John Kerry’s
Silver Star winning swift-boat mission in Vietnam. The John Kerry mission will
be available for download and play at <http://www.kumawar.com/>
on Sept. 30, 2004.
Using official government documentation and advanced 3-D gaming tools, Kuma
Reality Games will put consumers in the boots of John Kerry and provide a
first-hand look at the real-world events underlying the current controversy.
Kuma\War will also present the two opposing viewpoints of John Kerry and the
Swift Boat Veterans For Truth in their video news show through exclusive
re-creations of each version of the events.
“After the Democratic Convention, John Kerry's Swift Boat missions became a
centerpoint in the election,” said Keith Halper, CEO of Kuma Reality Games “But
the level of rancor has been such that few of us know what is supposed to have
occurred -- in anyone's version of the story. Kuma Games is in a unique position
to bring clarity to ordinary people's understanding of Swift Boats, of the men
who served in them, and of the events in question by letting you, as Lt. John
Kerry, join Swift Boat PCF-94 during these important events.”
Based on the Navy's records of the encounter on Feb. 28, 1969, players take the
role of John Kerry and lead three Swift Boats though the small tributaries deep
in the Mekong Delta. As the boats come under fire from Viet Cong hiding in the
nearby brush it is up to the player to steer the boats directly into the attack,
go ashore, and battle enemy fighters using the every day fighting tactics Swift
Boat Operators have been trained with as part of this elite force.
