3DO Releases "Heroes of Might and Magic® IV" Multiplayer Update

Up to Six Players Can Now Enjoy "Heroes(TM) IV," the Latest Installment of the Company's Best-Selling Fantasy Turn-Based Strategy Series

REDWOOD CITY, CA (August 5, 2002) - The 3DO Company (Nasdaq: THDO) today announced that the latest update for "Heroes of Might and Magic(R) IV" is now live online at www.3do.com. The newest member of the critically acclaimed Might and Magic(R) series, "Heroes IV" features the best in fantasy gaming. Breathtaking graphics and an all-new skill system enhance the magic.

About the Multiplayer Update

The latest enhancement to "Heroes IV" allows up to six players to enjoy the multiplayer experience via LAN, Internet or GameSpy(TM). The update also adds six multiplayer specific maps, including Barbarian from Below, Jester's Revenge, River Crossing, Uninvited Guest, and Wheel-of-Misfortune, as well as a feature that will allow players to chat with each other and whisper messages to selected players.
