3DO Releases "Heroes of Might and Magic® IV" Multiplayer Update

Up to Six Players Can Now Enjoy "Heroes(TM) IV," the Latest Installment of the Company's Best-Selling Fantasy Turn-Based Strategy Series

About the Multiplayer Update

The latest enhancement to "Heroes IV" allows up to six players to enjoy the multiplayer experience via LAN, Internet or GameSpy(TM). The update also adds six multiplayer specific maps, including Barbarian from Below, Jester's Revenge, River Crossing, Uninvited Guest, and Wheel-of-Misfortune, as well as a feature that will allow players to chat with each other and whisper messages to selected players.

Developed by New World Computing, a division of The 3DO Company, "Heroes IV" is the latest game in the best-selling Might and Magic line which has sold more than 4.5 million units worldwide and has been translated into over a dozen languages. Like its predecessors, the "Heroes IV" game showcases detailed fantasy worlds in a battle for territory and resources. Players command armies comprised of skilled heroic characters and fantastic creatures fighting enemies, capturing towns, and collecting vital resources and artifacts. The "Heroes IV" game features an all-new engine that supports multiple screen resolutions. New magic and skill systems mean players' characters become specialized as play progresses, and for the first time, the characters will actively participate on the battlefield.

Players will find endless hours of play with six massive campaigns and dozens of stand-alone scenarios, plus a campaign editor that allows terrain alteration in user-created maps.
