KOEI LAUNCHES SAMURAI WARRIORS(tm) XTREME LEGENDS(r) MINISITE New Minisite Will Take Visitors Deeper into the World of the Samurai Warriors.
Burlingame, CA - September 9, 2004 - KOEI, recognized worldwide as a leading brand of strategy and action games, today launched the official North American minisite for SAMURAI WARRIORS(tm) XTREME LEGENDS(r). The expansion pack, which can also be played without the original Samurai Warriors disc, is exclusive to the PlayStation(r)2 computer entertainment system.
Located at koei.com, the minisite will become the Internet's leading destination for game information, downloads, screenshots, forums and more. Visitors to the site can research the histories of the characters, and in the future learn more about the new battlefield of Komaki-Nagakute, new VS mode and Survival mode stages, the game's added 6th weapon level and more.
"The minisite for Samurai Warriors Xtreme Legends captures the visual essence of the game, as well as the Warring States period of Japanese history. The graphics and descriptions in the site will give gamers a sense of what it was to be a Samurai Warrior," said Ben Stockwell, Webmaster for KOEI Corporation. "Our schedule of site updates from now until the game's release in November will include new character information, the latest screens, trailers, and much more."
About Samurai Warriors Xtreme Legends (SWXL) SWXL's Story mode is set in 16th century Japan, after the fall of the Ashikaga Shogunate, and tells the tales of four new legends. In SWXL's unmixed Free mode, gamers can play the new Story mode stages using any of the 15 original characters or SWXL's four new characters: Tadakatsu Honda- a loyal samurai, Ina- the Warrior Princess, Hideyoshi Hashiba- the Unifier of Japan, and Warlord Yoshimoto Imagawa.
When Samurai Warriors is remixed with SWXL, the new SWXL characterizations will appear in the stories of other characters. For example, if you play Nobunaga's Tale in the original Samurai Warriors, at the Battle of Okehazama, Tadakatsu Honda will appear with his new design rather than in a standard officer uniform. Honda will also have his new XL abilities!
Memory card data from Samurai Warriors is compatible with Samurai Warriors Xtreme Legends.

SAMURAI WARRIORS XTREME LEGENDS is a Tactical Action game for 1-2 Players, and is scheduled to ship to North American retailers on November 9, 2004 with a suggested retail price of $29.99.
