Auto Assault introduces the Coliseum
GameZone exclusive developers diary reveals origin of newest feature
Put the pedal to the metal and throttle up for more intense action. Auto Assault, the online vehicle-based massively multiplayer adventure and action title is introducing a new feature that may have the community and new fans up to their rims with excitement.
The Coliseum will be making its debut within a few short days and this will definitely add a new dimension to the action and mayhem players can expect within the game.

Auto Assault is from developer NetDevil and publisher NCsoft and takes place in a post-apocalyptic world in which there are three races battling for resource nodes and to ensure the survival of each of their races. In the game players battle it out in missions and player-versus-player areas in vehicles that are armored and outfitted with weapons designed to destroy any hapless target that comes within range.
Auto Assault developer NetDevil weighs in with this developer diary to explain the origins of the Coliseum and what players can expect when they enter this action-packed arena.

The Coliseum was envisioned when we realized that we needed to create more content to help players progress from levels 60-80. Instead of making another standard Exit map, which would generally only be played once by the players, we wanted to make a map that could be played a number times, but be different each time. Currently, there are three challenges: at levels 60, 65, and 70.

The Organization for Combat Driving built the Coliseum in a hidden location deep within a mountain range near Ground Zero. Using the services of INC is the only way in or out of this grim fortress of concrete and steel. Once inside, OCD will force wave after wave of captive prisoners to attack the player in ever-increasing numbers.

The Coliseum is different from most of the other maps we've made for Auto Assault. First off, it's tougher. There are lots of enemies, and players will have to stay on their toes to keep from being destroyed. On the other hand, we've added power-ups to the Coliseum. Knowing when to go after power-ups will a key strategy for players. Also, some of the challenges themselves are new. There are still basic missions, such a killing a certain number of enemies (some timed, some not). On top of that, we've got a couple different missions that require players to defend an area, as well as a mission that simply requires the player to survive for a period of time.
Hopefully, players will find the Coliseum exciting and different. If the Coliseum is a success, we'll add more challenges to it in the future.
