UNIVERSAL INTERACTIVE TAKES GAMING OFF-ROAD WITH 4X4 EVO 2
Customized SUV's And Monster Trucks Kick Up Dust on Nintendo GameCube™
UNIVERSAL CITY, Calif., August 14, 2002—Universal Interactive, Inc., a studio of the Games division of Vivendi Universal Publishing, announced today its plans to ship "4x4 Evo 2," an off-road racing game, for the Nintendo GameCube™ in third quarter 2002.
Developed by Terminal Reality, the title is a new version of "4x4 Evo 2," first released for the Xbox video game system from Microsoft in October 2001, that now boasts GameCube™ exclusives including five new vehicles, four new tracks and more than 32 outdoor courses set in diverse locations around the world
Designed to appeal to off-road truck and SUV enthusiasts, the game offers players the opportunity to get behind the wheel of dozens of licensed vehicles, perform upgrades with an inventory of 90 real-world parts, test their racing skills, and explore, rescue, and compete through three new career modes.
In addition, the title will be the first game that supports the Logitech® Speed Force™ force feedback racing wheel for the GameCube™.
"Racing game fans now have the chance to put their off-road skills to the test as they steer Jeep Rubicons and Stillen Monster Trucks though challenging terrain with the aid of the Alpine navigation system," said Jim Wilson, president of Universal Interactive.
