Obsidian Entertainment and Neverwinter Nights 2 Appearing at PAX

Atari’s latest PSP title, Dungeons & Dragons: Tactics, also to make appearance

Atari and Obsidian Entertainment, the development studio currently working on the highly-anticipated Neverwinter Nights 2, will be showcasing the game at the Penny Arcade Expo (PAX) this weekend. Neverwinter Nights 2 is set in the popular Dungeons & Dragons® Forgotten Realms™ universe created by Wizards of the Coast. The Neverwinter Nights franchise has sold more than two million copies worldwide and features one of the largest and most active fan communities in all of gaming.

Additionally, Atari will be exhibiting their upcoming PSP entry to the D&D franchise, Dungeons & Dragons: Tactics. Dungeons & Dragons: Tactics is the first D&D title to ever be developed for a next-generation portable system and authentically utilizes the latest 3.5 rule-set created by Wizards of Coast. The game allows players to take a party of six adventurers into a wide variety of dangerous environments to experience deep and exciting turn-based action. Dungeons & Dragons: Tactics will be available for the PSP™ (PlayStation®Portable) system,

PAX is a three-day game festival for tabletop, videogame, and PC gamers, including dedicated tournaments and freeplay areas as well as nerdcore concerts, panel discussions, a weekend-long Omegathon event and an exhibitor hall filled with booths displaying the latest from top game publishers and developers.

Obsidian Entertainment’s Ryan Rucinski (Senior Producer of NWN 2) and Annie Carlson (Designer on NWN 2) will speak at this year’s PAX and provide convention-goers with in-depth insight into the development of Neverwinter Nights 2.

PAX is being held at the Meydenbauer Center in Bellevue, WA from August 25-27.
