Three Matrix Games Titles Arrive In Stores
Korsun Pocket, Titans of Steel and Operation Barbarossa Now In Stores
Woodbridge, NJ, August 20th, 2003 - Matrix Games (http://www.matrixgames.com) is pleased to announce that it has shipped three new games to stores. Korsun Pocket, a new game by SSG (http://www.ssg.com.au) in the Decisive Battles series, Titans of Steel: Warring Suns, co-developed by Matrix Games and Vicious Byte (http://www.viciousbyte.de), and Operation Barbarossa, an expansion by Just Flight (http://www.justflight.com) for Ubi Soft’s IL-2 Sturmovik and Forgotten Battles are all available in North America and overseas.
Korsun Pocket (http://www.korsunpocket.com) places the player on the Russian Front in January 1944 in command of the German or Soviet forces. SSG’s Decisive Battles game system features their legendary AI and an integrated move/combat system that exploits the computer’s processing and data storage powers to create a system that is more fluid and realistic than traditional strategy games.
In its September 2003 issue Computer Gaming World gave Korsun Pocket 5 out of 5 stars and an Editor’s Choice award, saying, “It’s the best hex-based computer wargame ever made. Period.”
Titans of Steel: Warring Suns (http://www.titansofsteel.com) is a fully open-ended role playing system in a future where the primary attack unit is the Titan Attack-Tech. Design your Titan-ATs, choosing from a variety of internal and electronics systems, armor types, chassis styles and weapons, choose your pilots, and lead your squads on to victory. Battle in different terrain types with interactive terrain features. Play in random skirmishes or as part of a full campaign either against the computer or multiplayer via hot-seat, LAN or internet.
GameZone rated it at 8.6 of 10 and calls Titans of Steel: Warring Suns “unique, addictive and enjoyable”. “If you are a fan of strategy or RPG titles, or are a fan of mech games as well, Titans of Steel will surely bring hours of fun and creativity to your PC gaming world.”
Operation Barbarossa: Mission and Campaign Expansion for IL-2 Sturmovik and Forgotten Battles (http://www.operationbarbarossa.com) by Just Flight is an expansion for Ubi Soft’s popular flight simulator. In the expansion, players join the Luftwaffe in the 1941 invasion of the Soviet Union, taking part in 230 historically accurate missions from the Kuban Peninsula to the gates of Berlin. Fly the campaign in single-player mode, or take part in extra Luftwaffe or Soviet VVD missions, or take the battle online in another 20 multiplayer missions with 60 custom aircraft repaints.
Korsun Pocket, Titans of Steel: Warring Suns and Operation Barbarossa: Mission and Campaign Expansion for IL-2 Sturmovik and Forgotten Battles appear on store shelves in North America and abroad, and are available from Matrix Games’ e-store. Korsun Pocket is priced at $50, Titans of Steel: Warring Suns at $30 and Operation Barbarossa at $20.
