The History Channel® “WWII The Battle of Britain” coming to Retail Stores October 2003!

iEntertainment Signs development Deal with Activision Value Publishing

CARY, N.C., August 19, 2003, -- iEntertainment Network (IENT), the award-winning developer of the popular TotalSims series of historical military games, announced today that it has signed a deal with Activision Value Publishing, Inc. (AVP) to develop AVP’s The History Channel® WWII: The Battle of Britain, a new single-player game to North American retail outlets in October.   The highly anticipated game, WWII: The Battle of Britain, includes a brand new combat terrain with over 270 miles of actual English Channel topography taken from real satellite data, over 40 historically accurate airplanes, and real flight models designed to perfectly match the flying characteristics of World War II aircraft.

The History Channel® WWII: The Battle of Britain will feature more than 30 single player missions from training, Instant Action, and Campaign missions beginning with the Evacuation of Dunkirk – Operation Dynamo: May 27th, 1940.  The battle will continue with all the major air battles of the period and conclude with the planned defense of England against Operation Sea Lion, Hitler’s plan to invade the English isle!

The game also showcases a new easy-to-use interface and three difficulty levels from Arcade (Cadet) to full Simulation (Ace), allowing players to start easily as they learn to be real fighter pilots.   The game’s new reward and role playing system challenges players to progress from Pilot Officer to Group Captain (British) , or Leutnant to Oberst (German).  Awards and ribbons will be available for those pilots skilled enough to earn them.   The History Channel® WWII: The Battle of Britain will also include a mission builder so players can continue to design and fly their own missions, and trade them with other players online.

Additionally, The History Channel® WWII: The Battle of Britain will enable the player to join IENT’s massively multiplayer online game service to participate in online battles with hundreds of players from around the world.
