MAJESCO SATISFIES APPETITE OF MECH-HUNGRY GAMERS AS 'GUN METAL' SHIPS EXCLUSIVELY FOR XBOX
Players Transform From Robotic Shooter to Fighter Jet Throughout Intense Air and Land Based Missions
EDISON, NJ, August 01, 2002 - The excitement of mech combat comes to the Xbox(tm) video game system from Microsoft as Majesco, one of the fastest-growing publishers of interactive entertainment software, ships Gun Metal to stores. Developed by Rage Software, this robotic thrill ride provides gamers with a visually intense and addictive game play experience exclusive to Microsoft's future-generation game console.
"The recent explosion in popularity of the mech warfare genre has given birth to a wide audience of gamers hungry for the type of mission-based combat that Gun Metal provides," said Ken Gold, Vice President of Marketing for Majesco. "Majesco is thrilled to be the first to deliver mech-style gaming to Xbox."
Gun Metal allows the gamer to effortlessly transform at will from a massive 30-foot tall, heavily armored robot engaged in ground-based combat, to a highly maneuverable jet fighter taking the mission to the not-so-friendly skies while combating fierce enemy forces. As an elite mech pilot in a hyper-realistic setting, gamers will destroy objects in the densely-populated fully interactive environment as they plow down trees, crush rocks under foot and rip chunks of twisted metal out of buildings, all while enjoying graphically stunning environments with enormously open landscapes.
Featuring 25 different missions, Gun Metal challenges the gamer to fight a variety of enemy units ranging from foot soldiers to enormous citadels by ground, and then takes them to the air to battle Hover Tanks and Fighter Crafts. Players load up on an extensive arsenal of weapons and collect intelligence essential for survival.
Exciting key features of Gun Metal include:
-
Freely transform from powerful mech to highly maneuverable jet fighter allowing you to
choose your own attack strategy; -
Walk, run, jetpack or fly over a variety of deadly battlefields;
-
Extensive armory of spectacular and devastating weaponry;
-
Battle an extensive array of enemy units ranging from scuttling foot soldiers to monstrous battle fortresses;
-
Players leave their mark on the environments: Tearing chunks out of towering buildings, razing entire settlements, and causing herds of animals to blunder into battle and much more;
-
Utilize intelligence information relayed to you in the heat of a skirmish.
Gun Metal for Xbox is now available nationwide for a suggested retail price of $39.99.
