DreamCatcher Standardizes on GameSpy Online Gaming Technologies

New Titles from Leading Publisher to Utilize GameSpy Middleware and Services 

(Irvine, Calif.) - July 30, 2002. Internet online gaming leader GameSpy Industries and DreamCatcher, a leading publisher of PC games, today announced that the two companies have signed a year-long licensing and services agreement for GameSpy's online technology middleware and related back-end services.

Under the terms of the agreement, DreamCatcher will incorporate GameSpy's middleware into its 2002/2003 games line up that feature online game play. GameSpy's middleware provides PC and console games with key features for online gaming, including player matching, voice and text chat, anti-piracy protection, competition and high-scoring systems, and more. GameSpy will also be managing the back-end services for DreamCatcher's online games providing the ongoing server, bandwidth and reporting support to the company.

Titles to incorporate GameSpy's technology include Iron Storm, a widely-anticipated 1^st person shooter game, and Hegemonia: Legions of Iron, a space-based strategy game, among others.
