LANfest 2K5 Fatal1ty Challenge and Prize Details Announced

World's best-known PC gamer to appear opening day.

PASADENA, Calif. -- July 27, 2005 -- Newegg.com announces that Johnathan "Fatal1ty" Wendel, the world's most recognized PC gamer, will make a special appearance on the opening day of LANfest 2K5, which runs from July 30 - 31. Fatal1ty will be on hand to play challengers in PainkilleR during Fatal1ty Shootouts. Fatal1ty Shootouts, where Fatal1ty takes on challengers for fun and prizes have become must-see events at many tradeshows and gaming festivals.

The 24-year-old Fatal1ty is the only cyberathlete to capture three CPL (Cyberathlete Professional League) championships in a single year. In 2004 he won the DOOM 3 Inaugural Deathmatch championship, capturing $25,000 in prize money at Quakecon 2004, and has won over $400,000 over the course of his career.
