Meet Johnny Turbine, a true-blue American hero! At least that's how Johnny describes himself to anyone he meets -- although he will carefully explain that he's not really "blue," more kind of flesh-colored. He's certain, though, that the whole world will see him as a great American hero too, as soon as he wins the Freaky Flyers' race. This hulking lad hails from Montana and grew up an orphan on a dude ranch located right between one of America's most beautiful national parks and one of its most hardcore survivalist camps. His famous SMACK ATTACK was first perfected on the ranch while herding reluctant cows. Unfortunately for young Johnny, the cows learned to smack back. Johnny believes that winning the Freaky Flyers' competition will lead to a multi-million dollar deal with a major motion picture company. Johnny doesn't have a lot going on in terms of brain power, but that's what gives him courage. He literally doesn't understand the meaning of the word "danger." Other words that give him trouble are "persnickety," "nonplussed," and "sushi." Danger waits for Johnny in the Freaky Flyers' race in the streamlined form of fellow flyer TRACI TORPEDOES. Every time she strafes him, he falls a little further in love. Little does Johnny know that his good looks, his beefy bravado and his tiny legs may help him win the race but they'll never win the heart of the pride of the German Air Force.

 Prickly like a cactus, but sweet like a rose...CACTUS ROSE: 
Cactus Rose -- the Mexican Marauder!  She's one-half sticky succulent and one-half thorny flower. You can look but you better not touch -- you might not have any fingers left. Cactus Rose spent her teenage years riding as the leader of an all-female Mexican bike gang that terrorized the bar and discotheque scene of the Baja California coast.  Then she toured the Mexican wrestling circuit, winning match after match under the name "El Diablo Chiquita."  She was about to lead an armed revolutionary movement but got the flying bug and became Mexico's most celebrated female aviator.  Now she's out to prove to the world that Mexico is about more than drunken frat boys puking in Tijuana, it's about Cactus Rose -- the world's greatest aviator!  She has complete and total contempt for the men in the race but she fears TRACI TORPEDOES, who might just grab the title away from her.
