Summerfest is coming to Final Fantasy XI

Celebrations abound in massively multiplayer realm

Vana'diel will be host to several weeks of summer celebration. Final Fantasy XI is the massively multiplayer online game from Square Enix, available for play through either the PC or PlayStation2 platform.

According to information on the official Web site of Final Fantasy XI (http://www.playonline.com/ff11us/polnews/news2289.shtml):

"At this time every year, adventurers gather in the towns to kick back and take a break from their usual daily activities. It is a time for players from all nations to come together and swap tales of their exploits.

"However, night is when Summerfest really heats up. The ensuing darkness sets the stage for a grand display of fireworks in the sky and on the ground. Countless bazaars line the streets and music fills the air. Adventurers of all shapes and sizes strike up conversations with complete strangers when not dancing hand in hand with their companions.

"The Moogles, as well, have devoted themselves to making this summer a memorable one. Participate in their events to receive wonderful items that will make your Summerfest even more exciting!

"Summerfest will be held from Jul. 23 to Aug. 8th, 2004.
