WAR! WHAT IS IT GOOD FOR?
Winning prizes for a start, in D-Day’s forthcoming tournament.
The elation that comes from defeating a human opponent has always felt far more gratifying than the defeat of computer AI. With that in mind, Digital Jesters is pleased to announce the D-Day Multiplayer Demo Tournament. The hunt for the greatest war heroes starts on Friday the 16th of July, and players will have one week to register before combat commences the following week.
The tournament will use Digital Jesters' very own tournament program in their search for heroes, not zeroes. Players who feel they are capable should head to www.d-daygame.com for details on how to enter, and what great prizes are on offer.
"As with any competitive game, the element of human opposition adds an extra dimension to an already thrilling experience," says Kevin Leathers, PR executive, Digital Jesters. "And when you factor in prizes for the winners, things get very interesting indeed. It really will be War."
D-Day is a stunning Real Time Strategy title from the creators of Desert Rats vs Afrika Korps. Featuring an improved version of the Walker 2 graphics engine, D-Day uses a variety of stunning graphical effects to portray total historical accuracy in a dynamic, fun environment. The weapons, units and missions briefings are all true to the world during that period, but without any sacrifices made to the balanced gameplay.
Testimonies from D-Day veterans and previously archived video footage enhance the sense of realism, as do the detailed descriptions of each vehicle's history that are included in the game.
Boasting more than 60 distinctly different units, both the single player campaign and extensive multiplayer mode offer a wide range of gaming experiences, ensuring both longevity and scope for individual playing styles.
Digital Jesters will release D-Day in the UK on the 20th August 2004, with a suggested retail price of £29.99.
