Leveraging from a highly successful event at The Padang last October, CPL returns to Singapore for the second year in a row. CPL Singapore 2006, also labeled “The Ultimate Southeast Asian Shootout”, will be held from September 15 – 17, 2006 at Orchard Road’s Ngee Ann City Civic Plaza – right in the heart of Singapore’s busiest and most vibrant shopping district.

Looking to draw professional gamers, aspiring gamers and game enthusiasts from around the region and the world, Razer is proud to support Singapore and the region’s burgeoning gaming and digital entertainment industry as the main sponsor of such an internationally recognized gaming event.

CPL’s choice of Singapore as the first event for this year’s CPL World Season recognizes the island-nation’s potential as a Southeast Asian stronghold for digital entertainment and computer gaming, consequently spurring the nation’s role as a world-class cybergaming and digital entertainment hub.

Frag or to be Fragged by Counter-Strike 1.6 and Quake 4 Extremely popular First-Person-Shooter (FPS) computer games, Counter-Strike 1.6 and Quake 4, will dominate the two official gaming tournaments at CPL Singapore 2006.

Counter-Strike 1.6 is a widely popular team-based Half-Life multi-player mod game featuring a counter-terrorist theme.

Quake 4 is an extreme First-Person-Shooter game with blistering fast, weapon blazing action.

Registration is open to all amateur and professional gamers aged 17 years and above. Registration fees include US$30 for Quake 4 single players and US$150 for Counter-Strike 1.6 clans. Gamers may register online at www.cplsingapore.com  from 1st August 2006 onwards.
