Counter-Strike 1.6 Teams Against Each Other for over $5,000 in Cash and Prizes
WHO:
World Cyber Games, Dust-Off® and the Samsung Experience
WHAT:
The World Cyber Games (WCG) and the Samsung Experience will host the first-ever
WCG Quiver Shoot-Out presented by Dust-Off. Nearly two dozen of
the best Counter-Strike 1.6 teams in the world will compete for the top-spot and
a share in more than $5,000 in cash and prizes.
"The idea of the Quiver Shoot-Out was for WCG and Dust-Off, two companies who
truly understand gaming, to offer the Counter-Strike 1.6 community another
opportunity to compete," said Paul Brewer, Manager of Marketing and Operations
for World Cyber Games USA. "Counter-Strike players are notorious for finding
that competitive advantage which is precisely what Dust-Off provides to gamers,
so this tournament makes quite a bit of sense."
For those who cannot attend the free event, the WCG will post Quiver Shoot-Out
videos on their YouTube channel which already hosts over 1,000 videos of gaming
action from the past five years. Additionally, cast members from the hit Syfy
reality show WCG Ultimate Gamer will be on hand to meet the fans and
cheer on their favorite Counter-Strike teams.
"As an Official Partner of the WCG, Dust-Off is proud to sponsor the first
annual WCG Quiver Shoot-Out Counter-Strike 1.6 Tournament," said Ken Newman,
Director of Marketing for Dust-Off. "As the WCG USA 2009 National Final nears,
we want to make sure every gamer has their equipment performing at its peak.
It's a proven fact that Dust-Off's line of gaming products gives gamers an
advantage which will make the difference in becoming a member of TEAM USA."
The WCG Quiver Shoot-Out presented by Dust-Off is the latest in a series of
events that lead up to the WCG USA 2009 National Final, which takes place
September 25th-27th at the Jacob K. Javits Center in conjunction with the New
