The 3DO Company Announces Winner of High Heat™ Major League Baseball® 2002 Sweepstakes Winner goes to 2001 All-Star Game® in Seattle

REDWOOD CITY, CA - (July 9, 2001) - The 3DO Company (NASDAQ: THDO) today announced the winner of their second annual High Heat Major League Baseball 2002 game sweepstakes. Robert Kemp of Kodak, Tennessee and a guest will be sent on a baseball fan’s fantasy trip, a four-day/three-night jaunt to Seattle, Washington to attend the 2001 Major League Baseball® All-Star Game® and John Hancock® All-Star FanFest™.

The winner was selected at random from among thousands of entries received. Entry forms were found in GamePro Magazine, GamePro.com, HighHeat.com, and specially marked packages of the High Heat Major League Baseball 2002 game for the PlayStation® game console, the PlayStation®2 computer entertainment system, and PC. First prize was a trip for two to the 2001 Major League Baseball All-Star Game and John Hancock All-Star FanFest, including tickets, hotel accommodations, and transportation. The 15 second-prize winners will receive one of 3DO’s currently available software titles, and 20 third-prize winners will receive a one-year subscription to GamePro Magazine. The 2001 All-Star Game is scheduled for July 10th, 2001 and the FanFest is scheduled from July 6th through July 10th, 2001.

The High Heat Major League Baseball 2002 game has been the consensus top baseball game pick among journalists. “3DO is releasing a triple-threat slugger this year in High Heat Major League Baseball 2002,” said GamePro Magazine. According to Official Playstation Magazine, “High Heat is the first must-buy PS2 baseball game. So buy it.”

This year’s edition of the High Heat Major League Baseball 2002 game features all new graphics, and is endorsed by Montreal Expos® superstar outfielder Vladimir Guerrero, who has used the game to scout pitchers. The High Heat franchise is known for realistic batter-pitcher match-ups, true-to-life gameplay, authentic recreations of all 30 Major Baseball League stadiums, superior artificial intelligence, and multiple difficulty settings that are tuned for the novice and experienced gamer alike.

The High Heat Major League Baseball 2002 game will be available on five different gaming consoles this season. The game is available now for the PlayStation®2 computer entertainment system, the PlayStation® game console, and PC. In summer 2001, the High Heat game will ship for Nintendo Game Boy® Color handheld system and will be the only baseball game on the Game Boy® Advance system.
