CYBERATHLETE® EXTREME SUMMER CHAMPIONSHIP 2005 KICKS OFF IN TEXAS

Over 7,000 Gamers from 60 Countries will Compete for $200,000 in Cash Prizes

LOS ANGELES - July 6, 2005 - Cyberathlete® Professional League (CPL)'s Dallas-based annual game tournament and LAN event will take place Wednesday, July 6 through Sunday, July 10, 2005, at the new Gaylord Texan Resort, in Grapevine, Texas. Title sponsor Intel Corporation is joined by NVIDIA, Hitachi and CompUSA to provide support to the longest running professional-gaming tournament and LAN event.

Thanks to its primary sponsor Intel and co-sponsor NVIDIA, the Dallas CPL competition boasts a huge bevy of cash prizes. More than $200,000 is at stake in the official competitions for Counter-Strike: Source, Counter-Strike (version 1.6), Day of Defeat, WarCraft III and Halo 2. The CPL World Tour competitors will play Painkiller (version 1.64) in a one-versus-one deathmatch format.
