REVENGE IS MINE: THQ WIRELESS BRINGS 'THE PUNISHER' TO MOBILE PHONES

Tuesday 6th July 2004, Woking, Surrey, UK: THQ WirelessTM Inc. ("THQ Wireless"), a leading publisher of mobile games, announces that Marvel's world famous 'The Punisher' property will now be available as the latest title in the company's catalogue of Java entertainment titles.

Based on the popular Marvel comic book character and now the subject of a major new movie due for release this summer starring Thomas Jane and John Travolta, The Punisher mobile game is an arcade-style shooting game which incorporates the vengeance and violence associated with the character.

The Punisher - aka Frank Castle - was a law-abiding US Marine who had served time in Vietnam until his wife and children were killed in mob crossfire while the family was picnicking. From that day, Frank dons the mantle of The Punisher and sets out to punish all criminals using his fierce intelligence, his years of combat experience and his absolute determination for vengeance.

The mobile game has two modes of play - Arcade and Story - with sixteen different levels of gameplay. The Punisher is equipped with an awesome range of weaponry to take on his assorted opponents.

James Scalpello, Marketing Manager at THQ Wireless said: "The Punisher mobile game is due for release in July as part of the build up to the movie. For anyone looking for a fast-paced and high-skilled game with plenty of action, there's nothing to compare with The Punisher. This has it all - and more."

The Punisher will be available for download from all major networks and will run on a wide range of Java-enabled handsets.

The Punisher property is owned by Marvel Enterprises, Inc, one of the world's most prominent character-based entertainment companies. Other top Marvel properties include Spider-Man, The X-Men, The Incredible Hulk and The Fantastic Four.
