ASPYR MEDIA, INC. SHIPS SHREK 2™ FOR MACINTOSH

Austin, TX- Aspyr Media, Inc. announced that DreamWorks’ Shrek 2™ for the Macintosh has shipped nationwide to distributors.. The game was developed by Ryan Gordon, and is licensed by Aspyr from Activision, Inc. (Nasdaq: ATVI)

Shrek 2™ follows the same storyline as the feature film but adds new locations and characters to the adventure. Players take on the role of their favorite characters from the film and embark on a journey to meet Princess Fiona’s parents in the Kingdom of Far, Far Away. The action-adventure game follows Shrek and four of his pals, both old and new, as they embark on an adventure through their twisted fairy tale world.

Featuring Shrek’s signature humor, the game allows players to switch between characters and take on the different characters’ personalities. Each of the 14 storybook-themed levels consists of educational activities such as puzzles, memory games and problem-solving challenges. Five bonus levels have been added to the game and, once unlocked, take Shrek and his pals beyond the adventures of the film. The puzzles and challenges are the most formidable element of Shrek 2™. Each of the five playable characters has special talents and particular combat maneuvers to aid in completing the tasks. An automated buddy system allows players to switch between these characters and use their unique abilities to solve puzzles. Players also collect coins as they maneuver through various locations and use the coins to increase each character’s strength and health.
