The Italian Job Ships in North America Today

PS2, Xbox Versions Drive Into Retail Outlets

San Francisco, CA (June 24, 2003) – Eidos (NASDAQ:  EIDSY), one of the world’s leading publishers and developers of entertainment software, today announced it has shipped to stores The Italian Job® for the PlayStation®2 computer entertainment system and Xbox® video game system from Microsoft. Based on this summer’s blockbuster film from Paramount Pictures, The Italian Job allows gamers to race in over-the-top off-street environments in new MINI Coopers.

The Italian Job puts gamers in the driver seat as they attempt to pull off the ultimate heist. Playing Charlie Crocker and his fellow thieves, the player must wreak vengeance on the man who double-crossed them during one of the largest gold heists in history. The game allows players to recapture the high-octane thrills of the 2003 hit movie as they attempt to escape from Los Angeles in supercharged MINI Coopers fully loaded with the stolen gold.

Racing 11 different vehicles from MINI Coopers to muscle cars, gamers can tear through subway stations, rip apart golf courses and plow through storm drains with the cops hot on their tail. The game features four action-packed modes including intense circuit racing, death-defying stunt driving, multiplayer madness, and story mode based on the movie’s gripping plot.  Bonus features include movie photos, concept art, and more.

“The Italian Job movie has proven to be a major summer blockbuster.  We are absolutely thrilled to be partnering with Paramount to bring this film’s high-octane, nonstop action to video game consoles.” said Renee Pletka, Product Manager at Eidos US.
