Build Your Own Endless Ages Arena

MMP title lets players create own battlegrounds

For many years now FPS enthusiast have been able to create their own arenas and worlds for game such as Quake and Unreal Tournament. Why not be able to create one for your favorite MMO game? Well Endless Ages is about to change that. Now you can create your own Arenas and actually fight in it with others in your favorite MMO game; Endless Ages.

Utilizing Discreet’s free G-Max program** you will be able to construct your own Endless Ages Arena!

According to the Web site:

"I am sure that some of you remember this, but the option is still there for you. A while back I announced that the players could build their very own Arenas and submit them to us. If the basic concept is good enough I will actually clean it up and tweak it out myself - and then put it in the game.

Imagine owning people in your own Arena?

Then you could really say it was your house that they were in. ;)

So how would you begin doing something like this? Well first off you will have to download Discreet's G-Max program. It is just like what we use (3D Studio Max) but a stripped down version. (Links for this programs and demo programs are available at http://forums.endlessagesportal.com/tm.asp?m=215492) Also download a tryout version of Adobe's Photoshop, as well as the existing Endless Ages Arena."

From there the guidelines are simple:

"1. For ease you will only be able to construct in-door Arenas (like the one in game right now).

2. No acute angles in the construction. This means do not have any areas where there is an angle less than 90 degrees. So you can't have walls like the following symbol < This will create collision problems.

3. Textures - they must be square. This means that the pixel width must be the same as the height. Example - 256 x 256, 512 x 512, 1024 x 1024.

4. Keep in mind different elements that can be added into the Arena at the end; elements such as jump pads, water, anti-gravity (ability to float), one way doors (enter but cannot exit through the same door), portals, fog (normal and volume (ground)), translating time and environment attributes, coronas (lens flares), and lights (normal, flashing)."
