Ubi Soft to publish Echelon in Germany
Moscow/Dusseldorf, 28.05.2001 Buka Entertainment and Ubi Soft Entertainment signed a publishing agreement for the futuristic flight-simulator Echelon.
This title was developed by Madia and will be released in Germany in the 3rd quarter 2001.
Echelon puts the player in white-knuckle combat over lush alien landscapes and towering cities as a member of an elite fighting force facing a revolution on a colonial outpost. Featuring two branching campaigns and a well-wrought storyline, the player will have the ability to advance from Lieutenant to Commander during his/her battles and assume greater control over how each mission plays out.
A broad range of player craft are included and each type features its own unique flight models ranging from traditional fixed wing aircraft and helicopters, to extraordinary gravity-defying, futuristic hovercraft. These varied flight models allow for robust and challenging tactical combat in both single-player and multi-player offerings yet each mode has been designed to be fully playable with intuitive controls for keyboard, keyboard/mouse, or joystick.
Hardware accelerated 3D graphics allow for spectacular effects, such as dust and particle effects, realistic water and reflections and feature detailed, highly realistic environments, beautiful landscapes, detailed building models, and over 50 types of friendly and enemy craft. Multiplayer options include death- match and co-op modes in a variety of game types, including Capture The Fort.
Andreas Balfanz, Product Manager of Ubi Soft Entertainment commented: "Echelon is a really unique combination of two genres - 3D Action and flight simulation.
