KUTOKA INTERACTIVE’S DIDI & DITTO FIRST GRADE: THE WOLF KING IS A MADCAP, TONS-OF-FUN LEARNING QUEST FOR KIDS

Kutoka Launches the 2nd Title in Their Grade-Based Series of Edutainment CD-ROMS

LOS ANGELES- (May 18, 2005) E3 Booth #7512, Kentia Hall - Kutoka Interactive, producer of the award-winning Mia edutainment software series, announces the launch of Didi & Ditto First Grade: The Wolf King. This time around we find the two zany beavers, Didi and Ditto, fighting to save their land from the Wolf King and his evil Lieutenants. This new title catches and keeps children’s attention with fun activities related to math, reading & writing, science & technology, music, social studies and art.

Didi & Ditto First Grade continues the company’s tradition of high-quality production values: engaging characters, unique and distinctive graphics, feature-film quality animation and solid educational content that builds on the basic classroom curriculum.

A grade-based learning adventure

Each title in the Didi & Ditto series is designed to strengthen and reinforce what children are learning at school and covers multiple subjects for a single grade level. At the start of each game there is a choice of three difficulty levels giving the CD-ROMs a great deal of replayability. This second title in the series is designed for the first grade level, targeting children ages five to seven.

Activities that were designed with fun and variety in mind

Children are motivated to play the educational activities in Didi & Ditto First Grade because the activities must be completed in order to gather what they need to finish the game. This supports as well as develops children’s essential skills while they are having a super time playing. Children can play the game as a learning adventure but they also have the option to choose specific skills to focus on and practice.

The story is about two beavers out to save their homeland

Didi and Ditto are part of a very special, wacky world where spiral trees, comical characters and purple wolves abound. A special feature of the title is that children can play the game as either the female character (Didi) or the male character (Ditto).

The story begins when the Wolf King and his Lieutenants threaten to destroy Jako’s Valley unless he is accepted as their ruler. To enforce his will, the King has stationed a Wolf Lieutenant in each part of the Valley. After months of having to work hard and put up with the Lieutenant’s unreasonable demands, everyone is fed up. Didi and Ditto decide that they need a plan to bring an end to the Wolves rule over the Valley. Given that the King is very vain and proud of his species, Didi and Ditto decide to make a bet with the King that beavers are smarter than wolves.

The King agrees but imposes a condition: a single beaver must succeed in outsmarting each Lieutenant and bring back all the medallions and the flags that are the symbols of their authority. If the beaver that sets out on this quest fails, the other will become the personal slave of the Wolf King. So now it is up to the player to succeed at all the hidden educational activities in order to win the bet that will save Jako’s Valley!

“Our research has shown us that parents are looking for high-quality grade-based edutainment software that will both help and entertain their children. Didi & Ditto First Grade really delivers on both levels and fulfills the promise of what interactive edutainment should be.” said Richard Vincent, Kutoka's CEO and Creative Director.
