CAPCOM® ANNOUNCES MEGA MAN BATTLE NETWORK™ 3 BLUE AND WHITE VERSIONS

E3, LOS ANGELES - May 14, 2003 — Capcom® today announced plans to release Mega Man Battle Network 3 White version and Mega Man Battle Network 3 Blue version for the Game Boy® Advance video game system. With complementary features for the White and Blue versions, our familiar heroes continue their struggle to defeat the many cyber adversaries that await them. Building on the two prior Mega Man Battle Network games, Mega Man Battle Network 3 White and Blue versions are enhanced with new areas, enemies, characters, and battle chips. Players can use the Link® Cable for tournament play and battle chip exchanges. Mega Man Battle Network 3White and Blue versions promise to deliver the most exciting ‘Battle Network’ action, role playing game adventures yet. The products are scheduled to release in North America this spring. The Entertainment Software Rating Board (ESRB) has rated this “E” for everyone.

Featuring all the characters from Mega Man Battle Network and Mega Man Battle Network 2, players join Mega Man.EXE, his pal Lan and friends as they keep the net safe from viruses, cyber criminals and a slough of other net-based menaces. Players will travel through new real and virtual worlds fighting off new bosses, interacting with new characters and finding new battle chips. Its cyber mayhem at it’s best.

These latest incarnations provide gamers with the new Navi Customizer system that allows them to control the customization of Mega Man’s abilities. Program parts can be assembled in a memory map and placed into Mega Man in order to give him unique abilities. But not following the rules or locking incompatible program parts into him will result in a loss of energy, which can create a handicap that may pose a greater challenge. As the player progresses through the game, they can collect program parts that give Mega Man one of seven different fighting styles: normal, guts, custom, brother, shield, ground or shadow style.

Mega Man Battle Network 3: Blue version and Mega Man Battle Network 3: White version are different by:

Different Fighting Styles:

• White – Grand Style

• Blue – Shadow Style

Five different “Giga Class” chips:

• White - Navi Cycle, Forte, Ryoseibai, Serenado, Proto Arm Sigma

• Blue - Folder Return, Forte Anoter, Delta Ray Edge, Darkness Aura, Proto Arm Omega

Mid-Boss in Chapter 7 is different:

• White – Mist Man

• Blue – Bowl Man

• Different Chips - There are several different Battle chips you can get in the White and Blue versions

• Different Enemies - There are several different enemies in each title

• Different color for sub-screen and result screen

• Background graphics are different in certain stages.

Mega Man Battle Network 3 White version and Mega Man Battle Network 3 Blue version are the second and third products to launch in Capcom’s yearlong plans to celebrate Mega Man’s 15th anniversary. Capcom will honor Mega Man’s birthdaywith the help of a massive marketing campaign and the release of six new titles to the franchise in 2003. The six new titles include Mega Man & Bass, Mega Man Battle Network 3: White and Blue versions and Mega Man Zero 2 for the Game Boy Advance; Mega Man Network Transmission for the Nintendo GameCube and Mega Man X7 for the PlayStation2 computer entertainment system.
