Gamebryo® Powers Xbox™, PlayStation®2 and PC Release of Cyberlore Studios' Playboy: The Mansion™
Co-publishers ARUSH Entertainment and Groove Games Partner with NDL to Bring Gamers a Unique 3D Experience of Hugh Hefner's Playboy Empire
LOS ANGELES AND CHAPEL HILL, N.C., (May 12, 2004) - NDL, a leading developer of 3D graphics technology for the computer and video game industry, announced today, from the 2004 Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3), that Gamebryo® is being used by game developer Cyberlore in the creation of the upcoming title, Playboy: The Mansion™ for the Xbox™, PlayStation®2 and PC. Cyberlore has fully integrated Gamebryo into its Prometheus Engine® to improve graphics and reduce the time and resources associated with cross-platform development.
Previewing at E3 this year, Playboy: The Mansion is a highly anticipated game co-published by ARUSH Entertainment and Groove Games. The title blends state-of-the-art social simulation with traditional role-playing and empire-building gameplay. Playboy: The Mansion demonstrates the cross-platform and graphics capabilities of Gamebryo as well as the product's ability to integrate with proprietary, internal engines. Cyberlore's Prometheus engine is delivering the title's simulation and gameplay with Gamebryo, enhancing its look and feel by handling all of the 3D graphics.
"NDL has a strong engineering and technology foundation and a proven track record of assisting development teams to deliver hit titles on time," said Jon Walsh, spokesman for Groove Games and ARUSH Entertainment. "After evaluating the technology, it was apparent that Gamebryo was the ideal solution for our project on both the business and technology fronts."
"Game development has become an extremely competitive and complex business," said Joe Minton, president and chief executive officer of Cyberlore. "NDL enables us to create compelling graphics and gameplay within the development timeframe set forth by our publishers. Integration with Prometheus was seamless and the combined solution is helping us cost-effectively deliver a better game."
