About Trainz Railroad Simulator 2004
Trainz Railroad Simulator 2004 (TRS2004) is more than driving trains - it is a total railroad experience. TRS2004 lets players operate their choice of locomotives, from the golden age of steam through to modern high-speed electrics, under a variety of challenging conditions in real world scenarios. In addition, players coordinate the movement of passengers and freight as their busy industrial world springs to life. Users can also create their own realistic environments, sculpting mountains and valleys, placing scenery objects, laying track and connecting a variety of trackside industries and towns.
“Based on two years of continual product refinement and customer feedback, we believe Auran is poised to gain a major share of this rapidly growing new genre,” says Tony Hilliam, Auran Marketing Director. "We have listened to what the market wants and made everything even more realistic. We've put a tremendous amount of work into things such as steam locomotives and driving physics and are offering users a far greater sense of purpose with animated industries that use resources and output goods. We’ve also significantly enhanced the graphics utilizing the new Auran Jet V2 game engine."
The amount of downloadable custom content will double to nearly 20,000 unique
items. “We have experienced over 1,000,000 downloads of custom content already
from our Trainz Download Station,” said Hilliam. “With TRS2004,
we've made sure that installing this new content will be even easier so that you
don't have to be a computer expert to experience all the extra fun."
"We have made impressive advances since we first released Trainz Community
Edition in December 2001," stated Greg Lane, Auran CEO. “With TRS2004,
we wanted to provide a deeper and more immersive experience where our users
almost forget they are sitting in front of a PC. So we made everything more
realistic, more interactive and more intuitive and we feel that we’ve really
brought the whole world to life.”
TRS2004 will initially be sold online at www.railroadsimulator.com and then at retail once publishers for various territories are secured.
Closed Beta testing begins in June, 2003.
