(Grab yer’ pork rinds, buckle up and hold on tight cause it time for off-road racing……Redneck style)
Irvine, California, May 02, 2001 – Interplay Entertainment Corp. (NASDAQ:IPLY), and 14° East announced today the release of the spirited racing game, Off-Road Redneck Racing™, available at retail for Windows 95/98/00. Officially endorsed by Leonard and Bubba, Off-Road Redneck Racing is designed as a high quality off-road racing game, with a fun touch of Redneck color tossed in. The latest addition to Interplay’s popular millions-selling Redneck franchise, Off-Road Redneck Racing contains a wealth of options, vehicles and tracks, it’s a game that hardcore racing fans will love, and that Redneck fans won’t want to miss.
Wild settings, vicious opponent AI, and the ability to bump, smash and trash other redneck racers provides players with challenging, intense off-road action. Players drive the hottest off-roaders’ out on the market today against ruthless competitors around some of the wildest tracks ever made. Choose from a selection of 16 different off-road vehicles including Jeeps, pick-ups, off-road Beetles, and other staples of southern culture, and race through 24 different tracks in six unique locales. Redneck racers can compete in challenge mode, attempt to beat the clock in time trials, or race the pro-circuit in championship mode. LAN support also allows players to rub fenders and sling mud against up to six other contenders.
Race in different light and weather conditions, from broad daylight to night races – where the twisting courses are only revealed in the glare of your headlights – from dry forest runs to rain slicked, mud splattered nightmares. Players must avoid destructible track objects such as oil drums and the always bothersome “crate o’ chickens”. All these features are backed by an insanely detailed and accurate physics engine, making players feel every bump as they whip around the dusty courses, making Off-Road Redneck Racing a must have for all PC gamers.
