Madden Playstation 2 Football by EA Sports To Be Crowned In Miami
More than 200 of the top cyber athletes in the
nation are expected to travel to Miami to compete in 5th annual National Madden
Championship
Miami, FL -- The Madden National Championship sponsored by thePFL.com of Ft.
Lauderdale, FL has evolved into the premiere gaming event of the year for
simulation sports video games. The tournament is being held July 11, 12, 13 at
the Intercontinental Hotel, downtown Miami. More than 200 of the best gamers in
the nation will travel to Miami from as for west as California, and as far north
as New York City to compete from the title of National Champion in addition to
cash prizes.
Now in its fifth year, the National Madden Tournament comes to Miami after being
held in Atlanta (1999) Washington D.C. (2000) New Orleans (2001) and Los Angeles
(2002). "What you will witness is extraordinary," states Israel Charles,
tournament founder and director. "There is an excitement and electricity in the
room during the competition that is parallel to a major sporting event."

Chestnut has agreed to compete in the tournament for the third year. Chestnut,
star of such movies as Boys In The Hood, The Brothers, and other box office
smashes has made competing in Madden tournaments a priority. "I'm a full time
Madden player, and a part time actor," jokes the mega star actor. Miami Dolphin
safety Ray Green is one of several professional athletes expected to compete as
well. Green stole the show in New Orleans at Nationals III wowing the
participants with uncanny hand eye coordination skills. NFL stars Warren Sapp,
Devon Bush and Duane Starks have also been contacted to participate as well.
Other top cyber athletes expected to attend are EA Sports Madden Challenge
winner Justin Cohen of New Jersey, Ice Ellis the defending National Champion of
New Orleans, and Madden gaming legend Lou Tillery also of New Orleans.
