The Spider Is In For The Fight Of His Life

Get ready for web-slinging, night-crawling fun this spring as Activision brings the beloved superhero to PS2, Xbox, GBA and GAMECUBE, while Tobey McGuire plays the title role in the feature film Spiderman: The Movie in theaters.
Long-Term Heroes
By now, everybody knows that The Lord Of The Rings trilogy represents an unprecedented cinematic undertaking: three films made simultaneously over 1½ years of production. But Columbia Pictures isn’t pulling any punches either — they have all the pieces in place to turn Spider-Man into the next big franchise. Director Sam Raimi and stars Tobey Maguire and Kirsten Dunst have all signed on to continue their work, so fans can look forward to the webbed adventures in theaters for the next several years.
The Man Behind The Mask
Compared to other superheroes, Spider-Man is just a kid — just your average everyday high-school student. But millions of loyal fans can relate to Spider-Man’s alter ego, Peter Parker and his realistic teenage problems like peer pressure, girls, job and school. His maturity, combined with a wise-cracking but perceptive attitude, make him one of the most unique and well-developed character in superhero history.
Spider Hype Reigns Supreme
In the highly anticipated Spider-Man: The Movie game from Activision, due to be released almost simultaneously with the movie, you play as Spider-Man/Peter Parker. Across brilliantly detailed environments, Spidey kicks butt, shimmies up the side of buildings, shoots webs, swings across the night sky and takes on the classic uber bad guy the Green Goblin. The Green Goblin, for those not steeped in comic lore, is Norman Osborn, the father of Peter’s friend Harry, and the owner of a leading chemical manufacturer, and is on one heck of a power trip. During experiments with a dangerous formula, Osborne was contaminated — turning into an insane super-powered-up villain. Threatening the future of New York City with dastardly plans, the Green Goblin wreaks havoc wherever he goes and only the man in the spider suit can stop him. Hardcore fans and newcomers to the story will have plenty to cheer about when Spider-Man: The Movie Game and the feature film wrap their web around audiences and gamers this spring.
