Lucas Learning(tm) Ships First Kart Racing Title for the PlayStation(r)2 Computer Entertainment System; On Shelves April 25
SAN RAFAEL, Calif. - April 18, 2001 -- The madcap, break-neck action of big-headed kart racing comes to the Star Wars(r) universe in Star Wars Super Bombad Racing, published and developed by Lucas Learning Ltd., distributed by LucasArts Entertainment Company LLC.
Available April 25, 2001 for the PlayStation(r)2 computer entertainment system, Star Wars Super Bombad Racing is a whimsical title that lets players race on various tracks throughout the Star Wars(r) galaxy as way-out versions of their favorite characters. "Super Bombad Racing is a fun and light-hearted take on Star Wars," says Mary Sadeghy, director of global sales and marketing for Lucas Learning. "The game's stylized look and humorous approach are a departure from traditional Star Wars games. After all, Star Wars fans come in all ages, shapes and sizes."
Star Wars Super Bombad Racing provides all the high-speed thrills, daring jumps and cool gadgets of kart racing and mixes them into the gravity defying, hyperspace world of Star Wars(r). Players compete as one of eight Star Wars(r) characters including Darth Maul, Yoda and Boss Nass. Each super-speedy racer has a unique personality, vehicle, racing physics, and animation. The game features more than 25 gadgets and power-ups, including boosts, shields, and special items that perform differently for each racer. Star Wars Super Bombad Racing features nine tracks in single or multiplayer mode, including the swamps of Naboo, the deserts of Tatooine, and the rooftops of Coruscant. There are five different game-play modes including Race, Teams, Challenge, Arena and Race Mirror.
