ALL GUNS BLAZING IN US WAR
Record-breaking American Conquest tournament enters next phase
It’s time to sort out the warriors from the wimps in CDV Software’s online American Conquest tournament as the contest enters Round Two.
A total of 640 entrants have been whittled down to 72, with 24 players from each of the three regions – the UK, USA and the Rest Of The World – winning through a tough first series of matches. Now is the time for seriously tactical gaming, as this second stage pits each region's gaming elite against each other until only four players remain.
These four finalists, two from the US and two from the UK, will travel to Los Angeles for the climax of the tournament, the re-creation of the American War Of Independence. From this epic battle just one overall winner will emerge victorious.
Apart from glory and the chance to change the course of history (if only virtually), players will be competing for a total of $20,000 worth of prizes courtesy of tournament sponsors The Overclocking Store, Gainward, Pure Digital, Logitech, and Saitek. They will also be flown, all expenses paid, to Los Angeles to spend three nights there from May 12-14, with the tournament final taking place on May 13. Players in the Rest Of The World region will claim their prizes at the end of round two.
Play in round two of the American Conquest tournament has just begun and you can see the progress of the combatants online at

This series of matches is scheduled to be completed by the end of April when the four finalists will be announced.A real time strategy game on a vast scale, American Conquest traces the battles of US history from the moment Columbus set foot on America to the American War of Independence. Players shape the destiny of the continent through over 50 missions spread across eight campaigns.
The PC game American Conquest is published by CDV Software and is available now.
