Boston Red Sox Predicted to Win the World Series (Again) According to 'High Heat(TM) Major League Baseball(R) 2002' Simulation

REDWOOD CITY, Calif., March 29 /PRNewswire/ -- In their fourth annual simulation of the upcoming baseball season, The 3DO Company's (Nasdaq: THDO) award-winning baseball simulation, High Heat Major League Baseball 2002 for the PC, has predicted the Boston Red Sox to break their 83-year World Series drought and win the championship. According to the simulation, the Boston Red Sox(R) will defeat the Atlanta Braves(R) four games to one. Additionally, the High Heat simulation predicted the Montreal Expos(R), led by superstar outfielder Vladimir Guerrero, will make their first appearance in the playoffs since 1981, earning the National League wildcard.

After successfully predicting the New York Yankees(R) to win world championships in 1998 and 1999, the High Heat Baseball game went out on a limb in 2000 by predicting the Boston Red Sox would win their first World Series in 82 years. What the incredible statistical accuracy of the High Heat simulation couldn't compensate for is bad luck -- and in the 2000 season, the Red Sox curse proved to be stronger.

The High Heat Major League Baseball 2002 game also predicted the following for the upcoming season:
