BEST-SELLING SONIC HEROES VIDEOGAME ACHIEVES "GREATEST HITS" STATUS FOR PLAYSTATION 2

"PLATINUM HITS" STATUS FOR XBOX, AND "PLAYER'S CHOICE" STATUS FOR NINTENDO GAMECUBE

SAN FRANCISCO (Mar. 22, 2005) – SEGA® of America announced today that top-selling Sonic Heroes™, the first original Sonic The Hedgehog™ game to launch on all three consoles, has achieved Greatest Hits status on the PlayStation®2. The game will also become a part of the Platinum Hits series on Xbox® video game system from Microsoft, and will be added to the Nintendo GameCube™ Player's Choice collection. All three versions of the game have been re-issued with new packaging and a suggested retail price of $19.99.

"The tremendous retail success of Sonic Heroes across all platforms makes it clear that everyone's favorite hedgehog is still at the top of his game," said Scott A. Steinberg, Vice President of Entertainment Marketing, SEGA of America, Inc. "And this value-priced re-issue is just the beginning; Sonic has a handful of other big surprises in store for gamers throughout 2005."

Sonic Heroes delivers to fans and gamers of all ages, allowing players to experiment with four unique teams comprised of 12 classic Sonic friends and foes. Though these teams follow their own unique paths across 14 massive stages, their combined efforts, in the end, are realized as they fight to circumvent the vile plans of Dr. Eggman, Sonic's arch nemesis. Steering past standard action-platform games, Sonic Heroes provides a unique and challenging gameplay experience with all the speed, flare and attitude that the blue hedgehog has become famous for.

Sonic Heroes is rated "E" for Everyone.
