New York, NY – (March 16, 2005) – Major League Gaming (MLG), the official professional league for console video game players, released details and photos today of its recent tournament in Houston. The photos highlight a wide variety of game play and activities throughout the competition. The event was held on March 12-13 at the Sheraton North Hotel.

With over 500 competitors in attendance, including more than 50 Halo 2 teams, MLG hosted its largest tournament since the league’s debut in 2004. While teaming with Texas Showdown, a 2D fighting crew, the event allowed players their first access to one of the top fighting games available, TEKKEN® 5. MLG-signed players, including David “Walshy” Walsh, had a strong presence throughout the tournament, taking home top prizes in Halo 2. Other winning regulars, Teams StK and FFA, also made themselves known by upsetting top seeded players.
