FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

INTERPLAY SHIPS FALLOUT TACTICS: BROTHERHOOD OF STEEL TO RETAIL TODAY

(Take Shelter and Experience Post Nuclear Strategy Gaming at It's Best!)

IRVINE, California, March 15, 2001 - 14° East, a division of Interplay Entertainment Corp. (NASDAQ:IPLY), proudly announced today that their highly anticipated strategy game, Fallout(tm) Tactics: Brotherhood of Steel(tm), has shipped to retail. Based in the award-winning Fallout universe, Fallout Tactics blends tactical combat with a post nuclear environment resulting in an innovative gaming experience. Fallout Tactics is now available at retail for Windows® 95/98/00/ME-based computers.

Fallout Tactics: Brotherhood of Steel expands the Fallout franchise into exciting new directions. It is the first game to bring multiplayer gaming to the Fallout series. It adds true vehicular combat (tanks, APCs and even Dune Buggies). In addition, the Fallout tactical combat system has been refined. The consequences of the players' actions have an impact on the storyline and mission development. Players have complete control over their party members, unlike previous Fallout games. Mutants, robots, two-headed cows, gangers and ghouls are all targets for pistols, flame-throwers, rocket launchers and energy weapons. Players have the choice of a new continuous turn-based mode for faster action or the traditional turn-based mode for more tactical gameplay.

The Brotherhood of Steel is a technological revival group dedicated to restoring the world to its former prosperity through science and, if necessary, sheer brute force. In the game, players must guide a squad of Brotherhood of Steel commandos through a post apocalyptic America in a quest to reawaken long-dormant technology needed to crush their enemies. Each mission delivers new challenges as players face off against the enemies of the Brotherhood using advanced skirmish warfare tactics. Players control up to six detailed characters in the single player mission-based campaign or they can take their squad online for pitched multiplayer battles. Each squad member improves with experience, increasing their skills and earning perks. In addition, the fighting isn't limited to pedestrians, as squad-members take the action to the streets with armed vehicles.
