Codemasters Announces Award Wins
and New Screenshots For Perimeter
Real Time Strategy Game With Groundbreaking Terraforming Technology Awarded
Top Honors At KRI In Moscow
Codemasters, a leading global publisher of interactive entertainment, announced
today its forthcoming real time strategy game, Perimeter, was recently
awarded "Best PC Game" and "Best Game Design" accolades at KRI, the Russian Game
Developers Conference. Perimeter was also a runner-up for "Best Game of
KRI 2004," while its developer, K-D Labs, was a runner-up for "Best Game
Developer." Held February 20-22 in Moscow, KRI brought together representatives
from leading Russian and international game developers and publishers to
participate in discussions dedicated to the wide spectrum of games, including
programming, game design, management, marketing and sales.
In addition today, Codemasters announced the availability of new screenshots for
the game. The screens focus on the groundbreaking terraforming
technology, as well as the impenetrable force shield and nano-technology, a
system that gives players the ability to adapt their combat units to a
particular situation right on the battlefield.
In Perimeter, players will race to acquire energy and create new
homes for themselves on the only suitable planet in existence. Through
terraforming, players can manipulate the game's landscape to extract energy,
expand a civilization base, increase covered territory and limit opponent
options. Energy extraction through terraforming provides power to units,
buildings and protective force shields, making management of energy and
awareness of landscape conditions vital components to game play success. Teamed
with a wealth of missions, structure types, game play maps and factions,
Perimeter gives the player an amazing universe to explore and endless
possibilities of play.
