DOFUS, the Revelation of the Flash Forward 2006
Dofus, a videogame released only about 6 months ago, has just received a double consecration at the Flash Forward in Seattle (USA). Indeed, it won the best game prize and the public prize
– all audiences taken into account.Every year, the Flash Forward rewards the best Flash creations. This year, it recognized the innovative aspects of DOFUS. For the first time, a MMOG (a massive multiplayer online game) was totally created only using the Flash format. Together with the public prize, this innovation becomes even more impressive since it also seduced quite a large number of voters.
DOFUS is a 2D MMORPG created in the tradition of World of Warcraft or Lineage II, with humour in extra. Entirely 2D, this videogame distinguishes itself by its manga-like graphics and a tactical gameplay, another innovation within the MMOG world.
Even if DOFUS isn’t up to the stature of a Wow, more and more players are seduced by the alternative it offers. Without a promotion campaign and only by word of mouth, more than 600,000 players throughout the world are already searching for these mysterious magic dragon eggs called: DOFUS.
