flOw Launching on the PLAYSTATION Store

The unique downloadable title, flOw, is set to launch on the PLAYSTATION Store Thursday, giving gamers the ability to pilot an aquatic organism through a surreal biosphere, consume other organisms, evolve, and advance their creature throughout the deep abyss – all in full 1080p* HD resolution. Also available will be classic arcade favorite, Q-BERT™, and a demo of Ridge Racer® 7 for the PLAYSTATION®3 (PS3™) computer entertainment system.

Initially a Master of Fine Arts thesis that became an Internet phenomenon, flOw was developed by thatgamecompany LLC, a startup spawned from the incredible success of the title’s Internet Flash version. flOw features an embedded Dynamic Difficulty Adjustment design, which allows players with differing skill levels to intuitively adjust the game experience and enjoy playing at their own pace. Additionally, you can take advantage of the SIXAXIS™ wireless controller’s motion sensors to glide, dive and submerge into the abyss.

Players pilot one of five creatures at a time in flOw, each possessing different attributes in the unique environments. You can perform various actions such as a burst of speed, stealth mode and a lethal bite to advance past enemy creatures, thus increasing your organisms’ size and speed. Up to four players can dive, flit and evolve simultaneously. flOw will be available for $7.99.

In addition to flOw, Sony Computer Entertainment America will launch the following on the PLAYSTATION Store:

• Q-bert ($4.99) – Relive the ‘80s with this retro arcade hit! Q*bert, the colorful, loveable Noser jumps into high definition on the PS3. Score points by hopping around the pyramid and changing the cube colors, but keep an eye out for Q*bert’s springy nemesis, Coily, and his dastardly friends.
• Ridge Racer 7 (free demo) ­– Experience drift racing in all its 1080p* glory with this sampling of the legendary racing series.
