$250,000 Up For Grabs in EA Best of Battlefield Video Game Tournament

The finals of the Electronic Arts Battlefield 2: Modern Combat ™ “Best of the Battlefield” tournament will take place at Electronic Arts, Inc. in Redwood City, Cali. on Friday, February 17, 2006. The massive "Best of the Battlefield" online tournament will come to a close as the two finalist teams (10 players each) go head to head to determine who will take home the grand prize of $250,000.

EA will host Team Legends and Team Professional Skills, two teams of ten members who beat out over 200 teams to get to the finals. The teams range in age from 14 to 28 and hail from all over the country.

A Grand Prize of $250,000 dollars will be given to the team that takes the championship, while $50,000 will be awarded to the team that wins their platform bracket but loses the championship.

The tournament, which is taking place both on the PlayStation®2 and Xbox® consoles, began in November. From the more than 200 teams that competed to qualify for the finals, two teams emerged as the best: Team Legends and Team Professional Skills. The two final teams, or clans, will go head-to-head, live, for bragging rights and a Grand Prize of $250,000. The finals will be played on the Xbox console.
