CODEMASTERS¹ COLIN McRAE RALLY 2.0 RACES ONTO STORES SHELVES

Sequel to World¹s Best Selling Racing Game Arrives February 9, 2001

NEW YORK, NY -- February 9, 2001 Interactive entertainment giant Codemasters today announced that Colin McRae Rally 2.0 for PC-CDROM is now shipping to retail outlets nationwide. With a suggested retail price of $39.99, this sequel to the world¹s best selling racing game brings all the excitement of the original with numerous enhancements, including an updated game engine, additional tracks and exciting new locations.

Featuring a stunning new supercharged 32-bit game engine created by the original, award-winning Colin McRae Rally development team, Colin McRae Rally 2.0 offers the fastest and most raucous racing experience ever. Over 90 new tracks spread across eight countries are now available, each track, offering its own unique terrain and weather challenges. From the tight dusty tracks of Kenya¹s blistering sun, to the slippery and icy roads of Sweden, Colin McRae Rally 2.0 provides some of most car-rattling, fender-bending terrain ever to grace a PC game.

"Codemasters is pleased to bring rally racing fans all the elements that made the first game so popular, while improving the game engine, gameplay and tracks." says Michael Hayes, Worldwide Director of Sales and Marketing for Codemasters. "Fans of rally racing should fasten their seat belts and get ready for a great ride."

Six rugged all-terrain cars are initially available, including Scottish-born racer Colin McRae¹s Ford Focus, with seven more available as the player progresses in both the Rally and Arcade modes. In addition, Colin McRae Rally 2.0 offers players five dynamic TV-style camera angles to view the action, including Codemasters¹ trademark Head Cam view which, with its constant jostling, simulates the relentless and often unforgiving impact of the road¹s surface on the car.
