GEARBOX SOFTWARE IN DEVELOPMENT WITH PC VERSION OF Tony hawk’s pro skater™ 3 For Activision®
Santa Monica, CA – February 1, 2002 – Continuing to build on its successful action sports brand, Activision, Inc. (Nasdaq: ATVI) confirmed today that acclaimed developer Gearbox Software is currently in the final stages of production on the PC version of Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater™ 3. The game will include several new platform specific features such as exclusive online modes, downloadable user-created maps and fully customizable mouse, game controller and keyboard configurations. Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 for the PC will kickflip onto retail shelves this winter with a suggested retail price of $39.99 and has been rated “T” (Teen – with blood, mild lyrics and suggestive themes) by the ESRB.
“Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 for the PlayStation 2 and Nintendo GameCube dominated the holiday sales charts and set a new benchmark for action sports gaming,” said Larry Goldberg, executive vice president, Activision Worldwide Studios. “For the PC version, Gearbox will push the game to new heights with enhanced multiplayer modes, support for user-created mods, and high-resolution textures for the ultimate virtual skateboarding experience.”
